Southwest Memorial Hospital Foundation NEWS RELEASE: March 25, 2004 FOUNDATION HEALTHCARE CAREER
SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
The Southwest Memorial
Hospital Foundation is currently seeking applicants for their 2004 - 2005
healthcare career scholarships. Identified
as an ongoing goal for the Foundation, each year the Foundation will
present two individuals with a $600 scholarship each and continue support
for previous recipients up to four years of their schooling pending
availability of funds. The
scholarships are available to anyone regardless of age, scholastic
ability, or need. In order to be eligible
for either scholarship, the applicant must have chosen healthcare as a
career, finished prerequisites for the fall school year by June 1, 2004,
maintained “satisfactory progress” in school work, and be a resident
of Montezuma or Dolores Counties. Applicants
are required to complete an application, write a letter or narrative
describing career plans and goals, past education, work, and life
experiences, provide three letters of reference, have written or verbal
verification of prerequisite grades, and be available for a personal
