Quality Improvement at Southwest Memorial Hospital
The management and staff of Southwest Memorial Hospital are dedicated to continually improving the care and services we provide. We understand the need to stay on the cutting edge of best medical practice and continually monitor the outcomes of our care to look for ways to serve the community better. We also monitor dozens of indicators in all departments to prevent medical errors and ensure the safety of our patients.
SWMH tries hard to understand the needs of our patients and their families. To do this we survey our patients on a quarterly basis to find out about their experience here at the hospital. Annually we survey the community and the physicians to find out what we could do better. As a result of those surveys, we have teams of managers, staff, and physicians working continually to improve our care.

Our Current Improvement Plan
Based on the information we have obtained from the community, physicians, employees, and the ongoing patient surveys we conduct, the Board of Directors and Medical Staff have set aside financial and human resources to carry out the following objectives:
- Improve the patient clinical information system.
- Improve employee accountability and morale.
- Marketing SW Health System community awareness.
- Expand Medical Staff services through fostering relationships.
- Hospital Building Expansion.
- Improve the Billing and Coding process.
