Phone: (970) 564-2200 The 40 bed Medical Surgical unit within Southwest Memorial Hospital covers a wide range of specialties for both adult and pediatric services within general medicine, dental services, gynecological, orthopedic and general surgery. Visiting Hours The Medical/Surgical staff encourages and promotes a friendly family atmosphere. Parents are encouraged to remain with their child during their stay at SWMH and sleeping arrangements will be made. No set visiting hours exist on Medical/Surgical as the staff understands the trauma a family faces during an injury or illness and encourages family to visit their loved ones often. Although, due to the various types of infectious diseases present within the Four Corners area throughout the year, there may be times when the staff requests that children not be allowed on the unit for their own health and safety. |

Staff
A staff of registered nurses and certified nursing assistants work closely with physicians to assure high quality care is given "with a loving hand". With the ever-changing health care of today, staff is encouraged to continue to remain current in all area of education. Many staff members are ACLS and PALS certified. The Medical/Surgical staff works within a CQI process with other hospital departments to not only administer high quality patient care but provide assistance to family members in many needed areas.
Hospice Room
A Hospice room is provided for clients within Montezuma County. This private room and bath affords comfort for the client, along with needed medical support and allows respite care for the client and their family members.
