e-mail: educdir@swhealth.orgThe Staff Development Department is responsible for the education and training for all the hospital staff (excluding physicians). Continuing education is a fundamental principle of Southwest Memorial. Our department’s mission is to provide staff development to meet the strategic needs of the organization. We have made extensive use of our Telemedicine program, primarily for educational purposes, while doing some patient consults. Currently we average 20 educational offerings a month via Telemedicine with courses offered from:
• University of Colorado Health Sciences
• Children’s Hospital
• Poudre Valley Hospital
• North Colorado Medical Center

If you interested in a First Aid or CPR class please call 564-2174, Four Corners Emergency Preparedness. They are the people who teach all the classes at the Hospital.
We offer ACLS and PALS twice a year each. Generally the classes are in late winter (February to March) and early autumn (September to October). Non-hospital staff are welcome to attend. The cost is $142.00.
Staff Development also is the sign-in area for Family Birthing classes. These classes are for new mothers-to-be and are taught by nurses from our Family Birthing Unit. For more information on this course, click on the link below.
