Our goal is to deliver state of the art surgical procedures at a competitive cost. The majority of the staff are natives of the Cortez area, and are very attentive to patient care. The vision of the department is that the patient is our customer, and we will go any length to make sure patients get the best care possible. We committed to stay up to date with the modern technological advances. Our goal is to provide the best services possible to the people of this community.

Services

We are now fully operational in our new SDS and OR suites.  There are four new OR suites and two new GI endo suites.  Our new facility is now used to prep all surgery patients including outpatient surgery and elective inpatient surgery.  All surgery patients should check in at the Lab/Surgery reception desk.

Dr. Valden Johnson, and Dr John Patton are anesthesiologists that deliver anesthesia for the department. Surgeon staff are as follows:

The surgeries listed are only a fraction of the surgeries offered by the Surgeon’s. If you have a question about a procedure listed or any other that they perform you can contact your Family Physician or the Surgeon’s office.

On extensive surgeries we have a Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant. A CRNFA takes the place of another Physician who would assist the Surgeon. This in turn cost less than the Physician without sacrificing quality of care.

Kyle Cruzan RN, BSN is the director of Surgery. He works with Nursing Staff, and Surgeon Staff, to ensure the best patient care possible to this community.
