Care Philosophy

“Everyone can always improve. I want to get my patients back to doing all the things they love in the community. As a team we have a very comprehensive mixture of therapists That allow us to treat a variety of diagnoses successfully. We use that diverse set of skills to make sure the patient has the best outcome possible. It’s important that people know that I am very excited and energetic about my job, and truly enjoy getting people better.”

Brenton has been an outstanding help in regaining the range of motion in my knees after bilateral total knee replacement. I am a difficult case as I was so restricted preoperatively. Brenton has tried multiple strategies, extensively researched, and done everything but stand on his head to help me regain adequate function, and I am sure he WOULD stand on his head if he felt it would help me. He is the perfect combination of cheerleader and taskmaster.  SHS is very lucky to have him, and I am blessed to have him as my primary PT here. He is determined to get me the best outcome possible. If I arrive early for an appointment, he takes me immediately if he is not with another patient, and gives me extra time if necessary, because obviously we have TWO joints to work on! His positive attitude reflects well on the PT department, as well as the organization as a whole. M.L, Patient

Marc Meyer, R.Ph, BPharm, CIC, FAPIC received word of this honor from Telligen on Friday, July 6th. “On behalf of Telligen QIN-QIO, we would like to highlight the work of our providers who have bachieved the goal of implementing all of the CDC Core Elements of Antibiotic Stewardship. We would like to acknowledge your hard work and dedication to this incredibly important measure aimed at improving antibiotic related patient safety and slowing the spread of antibiotic resistance.  As such, we have added you to our Antibiotic Stewardship Champion Honor Roll which is displayed on our corporate website” said Andrea J. The Telligen Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) strives to create better health, better care and better value for people with Medicare in Colorado, Illinois and Iowa. Marc J. Meyer R.Ph, BPharm, CIC, FAPIC who was recently recognized as an APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology) Hero and has helped the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Quality Forum develop ASM guidance documents has led this effort by instituting a collaborative, education-based guideline-development process. According to Telligen (2018), “healthcare providers on the Telligen honor roll have implemented all four Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Core Elements of Outpatient Antibiotic Stewardship, demonstrating commitment to improve the quality of patient care, slow the development of community antibiotic resistance and reduce adverse drug events caused by unnecessary use of antibiotics.”

The CDC states that antibiotic stewardship is the effort to measure and improve how antibiotics are prescribed by clinicians and used by patients. Improving antibiotic prescribing involves implementing effective strategies to modify prescribing practices to align them with evidence-based recommendations for diagnosis and management.
